If You Want Top-Notch Immunity ... Look to the Gut

 

The gut microbiome and the immune system are critically intertwined.

Did you know that what is present in the gut (meaning what microbes you have), determines what education immune cells get? 🤔

A healthy gut is of great importance in the pathogenesis of COVID-19. Clinical trials of Lactobacillus and mixtures of Bifidobacteria and Lactobacillus, for treating COVID-19 cases are ongoing.

So, should YOU be spending $60 a month on a product with 500 billion trillion CFUs that “needs” to be refrigerated?

If your gut health is below par I honestly don't think that a magic probiotic is your answer. This is especially true considering consumers are wildly unaware of the limits that our current research on probiotic supplements has in terms of their effectiveness. That, and the supplement marketing game is strong and isn’t telling consumers everything because it really doesn’t have to.

Naturally, probiotic-containing foods, which I’ll touch on in another blog, are a far better option for gut health and your immune health 🥣 🍏.

If you are taking probiotics for your gut health, or any supplement for that matter, are you tracking your progress?

I always suggest that my clients use a “Supplement Tracker” to monitor how effective their chosen supplement is for them. We don’t want to be wasting money on things that are not providing gains, and we definitely do not want to be creating further problems by using the wrong type or inferior supplements that contain contaminants. Just because a supplement is called ‘natural’, does not mean that it will not have any side effects.

Living without awareness and intention creates pressures that we are not doing, we are not moving fast enough, as bosses, workers, weekend warriors, friends, lovers, parents, siblings, or grandparents. We have to be able and willing to step outside the pull of unhealthy and unhealthful cultural norms and make the critical space to do our meaningful thinking.

The first thing I need people to take in is if they are going to work with me or read my work because for me this re-frames the core of moving through all obstacles we have around stress, rush, health, weight, etc … The very blantant truth is that living under the guise of society’s expectations - is not living.

We have been fed a narrative that stepping outside or away from norms is the wrong way to exist and this narrative furthers unhappiness, unhealthiness, pressure, and a life that is too fast to enjoy.

Wherever we are, this is life—it’s happening right now, and I’ve decided that I am not going to rush through it and I invite you to join me today …
