Unplugging from the Grid!

 

Have you read any of Seth Godin’s books? I highly recommend tapping into his resources. He has a profound quote positioned around creating our own clarity on what matter to us. Here is my adaptation of his quote …

“We can’t use someone else’s principals or vantage point to measure our own body satisfaction or happiness”.

Have you ever looked at someone with a six pack or killer legs or a sculpted rear and convinced yourself that you would be happy once you arrived there? Whilst drawing that conclusion, have you thought about what it might take, what sacrifices you may need to make to get there? Is it a priority over other things in you current life?

When we get a clear understanding of what really matters to us, we can jump off the train of comparison and chasing goals that are’t actually ours.


I’m very aware that I’m not running the same race as the majority on the matrix.  I’ve inherited my own goals over those goals that have been pressed against me from society. 

Another amazing morning of momentum.  Meditation, NKT & Oesto homework, rolling, 5 mins of yoga, 1 k run in nature, topped with the most energising smoothie creation (recipe below).  Then head to work to train some go getting people!!

Forty minutes of me time in a busy world has brought calmness and joy to my inner self.  I’ll sneak in more movement, mindfulness and breath work throughout my day.

Body Fuel Nutrition and Movement Energising Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 200mls super chilled Organic Hemp Mylk

  • 1/4 tsp Bacopa Monnieri (Brain powder)

  • 1/2 tsp organic Camu camu (Adrenal health)

  • 1 tsp Phenolics powder (Gut restore)

  • 1 tsp broccoli sprouts (Hormone balancing)

  • 3/4 ripe pomegranate (Gut restore)

  • 1/2 frozen organic banana (glycogen)

  • 1 cup (locally grown) radish greens (Thyroid)

  • 1/2 tsp organic ginger (Gut restore)

  • 1 tsp organic Matcha Green Tea (Energy)

  • 1/2 tbsp Strawberry fisetin powder (Longevity)

  • 1 scoop Practitioner Only Vegan Protein powder with gynostemma (Blood sugar balance and satiety)

Blend all but the protein powder for 60 seconds. Add the protein powder and blend on a low speed till just combined, pour into your glass. Best imbibed whilst sitting in-front of your Red Light Therapy lamp whilst repeating “I release all energy that is no longer needed including all emotions and lessons behind them and fully empower myself to move forward knowing that all the answer are within me”.

Remember, celebrate everything indefinitely.

As a health and fitness professional, I want to shift the paradigm toward one of self-love and self-care instead of an aesthetic insecurity-based industry. Let’s move away from the trail of being overweight, body shape dissatisfaction, the daily dose of pharmaceutical and social drugs, persistent envy, unhappiness, anxiety, depression, and a life full of pressure to keep up, skip steps, and rush.

Living without awareness and intention creates pressures that we are not doing, we are not moving fast enough, as bosses, workers, weekend warriors, friends, lovers, parents, siblings, or grandparents. We have to be able and willing to step outside the pull of unhealthy and unhealthful cultural norms and make the critical space to do our meaningful thinking.

The first thing I need people to take in is if they are going to work with me or read my work because for me this re-frames the core of moving through all obstacles we have around stress, rush, health, weight, etc … The very blantant truth is that living under the guise of society’s expectations - is not living.

We have been fed a narrative that stepping outside or away from norms is the wrong way to exist and this narrative furthers unhappiness, unhealthiness, pressure, and a life that is too fast to enjoy.

Wherever we are, this is life—it’s happening right now, and I’ve decided that I am not going to rush through it and I invite you to join me today …
